Based on the beloved novel, The Snow Goose is a soaring new musical about connection, healing, and the quiet heroism of the human spirit. On the windswept coast of Essex, England, an unlikely bond forms between Philip, a reclusive artist scarred by society, and Frith, a resilient orphan. Together, they nurse an injured snow goose back to flight and in doing so, begin to heal wounds of their own. Over a decade-long friendship shadowed by the approach of war, Frith dares to imagine a life beyond her village, while Philip confronts the question of whether humanity, including his own, is worth saving. Brought together by chance, their bond becomes a lifeline—one that will shape them both in ways neither could have imagined.

SEEKING:

[PHILIP RHAYADER] Male, late 20s - 50s, Any Ethnicity. A scruff and unruly shell hiding a tender and poetic interior, Philip is a village outcast living in an abandoned lighthouse on the coast of Essex, England just before World War II. A man with visible physical difference, Philip passes his time in isolation despite being a practiced sailor and a prodigious artist and sculptor. With a strong connection to the natural world, Philip’s most meaningful pastime is nursing wounded birds back to health and it’s this love that introduces him to his deepest and most complicated relationship: Frith. Seeking to cast an ambulatory disabled performer, including but not limited to performers with physical disabilities and/or facial differences - excellent actor and singer. British accent (dialect coach provided) . Singer - Baritone, Tenor or Bari-tenor.

We are casting a wide net seeking performers from several disability communities, including but not limited to ambulatory artists with visible and/ or apparent disabilities, whether they are acquired or life-long. 

• Disability identities could include but would not be limited to artists who are / who have:

• Amputees / Limb Differences

• Members of the Little People Community or Short Stature / Dwarfism 

• Large Stature or Above Average Size / Gigantism

• Cerebral Palsy 

• Stroke Survivors 

• Facial Differences

• Spina bifida

• Differences in Gait / Movement 

• Differences in palates / Cleft palates 

• Artists who are part time wheelchair users and/or use mobility aides such as crutches, canes, or walkers
